A new console launch is always exciting, even if you’re not planning on picking up the console yourself. It’s a herald of the next generation and a harbinger of the current one. What awaits all our eyes, ears, and thumbs with the coming age? Well, Nintendo is the first of the titanic three to offer its wares. Nintendo’s newest console, the Wii U, was officially launched yesterday along an impressive 26 game lineup spanning multiple genres and including some current gen gems. There are currently two models on sale, the Basic Model and the Deluxe Pack. Not too much is different other than price (the Basic model retails for $300 while the Deluxe retails for $350), the color (the Basic is white while the Deluxe is black), internal storage (Basic has 8gb of memory while the Deluxe has 32gb), and the Deluxe is also reported to come with a stand and docks.
Some of the system’s gaming highlights include:
Assassin’s Creed III
Batman: Arkham City – Armored Edition
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2
Epic Mickey: The Power of Two
Madden NFL 13
Mass Effect 3: Special Edition
New Super Mario Bros. U
Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge
Tekken Tag Tournament 2: Wii U Edition
Early response to Nintendo’s new console has been positive but there are some mixed reviews beginning to surface of hardware and firmware malfunctions; stay tuned for further updates.
