Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. Spoiler Free Edition!!!
I just got back from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. To start off, It’s a decent movie. But, it can be a bit confusing the first time you watch the jump cuts. Since it goes from present day to random dreamlike sequence. But, it becomes more clear what they are doing the 2nd and 3rd time around. That being said it does give off a bit of a choppy vibe in the beginning. Where it introduces both Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent and runs through their back story and back and forth. It does get better as the story goes on. Since it goes more towards the story after all the introductions are done. The good thing is they didn’t try to cram more than 3 heroes into the 2.5 hour movie. The others that are mentioned are brief cameos. Showing that they do exist in the same universe. And will more than likely be introduced in the next installment. what ever they decide to call it. The action and fight choreography was good and believable. The main fight between Batman and Superman. made sense in the movie. Superman was believably stronger and Batman was believably smarter. It was a good fight. But we all knew how it was going to end. The second fight between the three heroes and Doomsday was kind of not as believable. It seem to suffer from throwing the two fights in to the same movie in the short amount of time. I think it sounded good on paper. But, didn’t deliver what I think everyone wanted. The characters themselves were believable. And Ben Afleck made a pretty believable Batman. I just didn’t buy him as the billionaire playboy that is Bruce Wayne. Henry Cavill played a good Superman. I didn’t really have a problem with him. Gal Gadot, played a good Wonder Woman. Which is were I liked her the most. Seeing her out there fighting as Wonder Woman is where she really shines. Which kind of leads me to believe that they spent more time on the superhero part of the movie. And not so much on the other stuff. All in all I’d say it was a C+ movie. There was nothing inherently bad about it. But, it just didn’t live up to my expectations. Since the animated films did such a wonderful job of bringing the characters to life and I was always excited to watch those. The live action film just kind of fell short. Well that about wraps it up.
Til next time. This has been your resident sexy Asian. Signing off.
