Hello and welcome to Ghastly Studios’ August update. 🙂
We’re still in our off-season here at Ghastly Studios, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t been busy. This past month we’ve been working behind the scenes on a couple of different things, so let us get underway in divulging what exactly we’ve been up to. Continue reading

Greetings from Guns of the Helghast and welcome to our 4 – YEAR ANNIVERSARY EVENT post! 🙂
This past Friday, July 26th, 2013, Guns of the Helghast celebrated our four-year presence as a club within PlayStation Home*. All members of GotH able to attend assembled within the walls where we first officially convened. As can be seen in the header image above we celebrated this special occasion in old-school fashion within a jazzed-up version of our original clubhouse, thanks go out to Commander Sons who hosted the event and for the celebratory renovation. Beginning the event with a touching speech, Sons’ words set the tone for the remainder of the night, one of gratitude and future promise. These sentiments were echoed among the attendees, many of whom chose to take center-stage in order to share their own heartfelt hopes and experiences over the past year and beyond. While Sons, our revered leader, is ultimately responsible for bringing us all together and keeping his troops aligned we shall not confine our gratitude solely to his person, we have much to be proud of this year and many others who deserve mention as well. Welcome to June’s Ghastly Studios update. 🙂
We here in Ghastly Studios are still in our off-season for main productions, but that doesn’t mean we’re not doing anything. Jiin, a member of Guns of the Helghast not normally involved in our machinima work, had an idea for a skit that we were happy to help with. Jiin’s idea, as seen in its completed form above, is a commercial for a PlayStation Home item, Sodium’s telepads. Don’t think we have some special creative preference aimed only at Jiin, though. Greetings again from Guns of the Helghast, DOOD!
Last Friday, April 26th, 2013, Guns of the Helghast dropped into the Disgaea 4 Lounge. Developed by Nippon Ichi Software Inc., the creators of the Disgaea video game series, this public space was installed on U.S. servers January 18th, 2012. Inspired by Hades, the main hub of the game-world in “Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten,” the general structure of the Lounge mimics the game well. In fact, aside from NPC placement, Home’s unique set of interactive features, and a few cosmetic alterations the space is spot-on down to the secret scalable sides along the edges of the isle. For those unfamiliar with the game or Home space, Nippon Ichi’s Disgaea 4 Lounge is done in an exaggerated art style reminiscent of “Maximo” or “MediEvil.” Continue reading

Ahoy landlubbers and welcome to another Guns of the Helghast Friday event!
As might be guessed by the title, Guns of the Helghast dropped anchor last week at Cutthroats: Battle for Black Powder Cove. Developed by Sony Computer Entertainment and released March 28th of last year, the Cove is alive with seedy scalawags and stoic shipmen still blasting beneath their own banner.
Greetings from Guns of the Helghast. 🙂
April 5th, 2013, Guns of the Helghast engaged in another PS Home Event; with General Jarhead leading the invasion, we found ourselves atop an elaborate skyrise beset by eye-candy and a couple of cool features. Continue reading
